JEE Main 2019 - The registrations for JEE Main 2019 for the January exam have started from September 1. Candidates will be able to pay the registration fee till October 1, 2018. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) 2019 twice in a year for undergraduate engineering admissions into NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. JEE Main 2019 will be a computer-based test to be held from January 6 to 20 and again from April 6 to 20. Paper I examination will be conducted in two shifts per day whereas Paper II will be held in one shift only. According to the latest notification released by NTA, JEE Main 2019 Paper 2 will be conducted as both computer-based (Mathematics and Aptitude) and pen and paper based test (Drawing). JEE Main applications for the April exam will be available from February 8th to March 7th. There will be no change in the syllabus, exam pattern, fee or language of the exam. What’s New in JEE Main 2019?
  • National Testing Agency (NTA) has taken over from CBSE and will be conducting the exam twice a year – one in January and one in April.
  • Age Limit has been removed and candidates who have passed their class 12 in 2017, 2018 or are appearing in 2019 can apply irrespective of their age.
  • The application fee for JEE Main 2019 has been reduced for candidates belonging to different categories. 
  • 1.5 lakh common service centres have been mentioned where students can fill the application, pay fees, upload documents, download admit card and all such activities at a nominal fee.
  • Paper I will be conducted in two shifts per day whereas Paper II will be held in one shift.
  • The exam will be computer-based from 2019. However, the drawing section of Paper 2 will be conducted as a pen and paper-based test. 
  • 2697 Practice centres have been set up across the country where students can go to prepare. Students can register for these from September 1.
  • Mock tests/ Sample Papers will be released in November for candidates to practice at home or at the centres set up for this purpose.
  • Candidates can appear in one or both the exams. The better of the scores will be considered for admissions.
  • There will be no change in exam pattern, syllabus, fees or language of the exam.
  • The exam will be held on multiple sessions across days with 2 lakh candidates per session. The total slots will be eight for both the January and April exams. 
  • Number of test cities have been increased to 264 and those abroad have been reduced to 9 (Dhaka is no longer an option).
 
JEE Main Application Form 2019
NTA has released the application form of JEE Main 2019 for the January exam on September 1, 2018. The candidates can access the JEE Main 2018 application form in online mode. The final date to fill and submit the application form is September 30, 2018. All personal and academic information submitted by the candidates has to be valid in nature. The application fee can be paid by the candidates till October 1, 2018. JEE Main 2 registration will begin from February 8th to March 7th. The correction window for the application form of JEE Main 2019 will be open from October 8 to October 14. 
Common Service Centres - Candidates can go to any of the 1.5 lakh common service centres set up to fill the application form, pay the fees, upload documents, download admit card and more at a nominal fee + GST.

How to Fill JEE Main 2019 Application Form
The main steps to fill the application form of JEE Main 2019 are listed below for the candidates to refer:
  • Authentication through Aadhaar/Identity Card – Details of submitted Aadhaar card is matched with the details stored in UID database.
  • Filling of Online Application Form – Personal, academic, exam related and contact details have to be submitted by the candidates
  • Verifying Mobile Number & Email ID – Next, the candidates will have to verify their mobile number and email ID.
  • Uploading of Scanned Documents – The required documents have to be submitted by the candidates.
  • Payment of Examination Fees – The fee has to be paid in online or offline mode.
  • Print out of Acknowledgement Page – Finally, the acknowledgement slip has to be downloaded and printed out by the candidates.
Payment of Examination Fee
For payment of the examination fee, the candidates will be able to select online or offline mode. If the candidate wishes to pay in offline mode then he will have to download the e-challan and deposit the fees at the nearest Syndicate Bank/ICICI Bank/Canara Bank. For payment through online mode, any one of the following modes can be used:

Important: NTA will announce details of the exact city, date and shift for JEE Main  Paper-1 and Paper-2 by November 15, 2018. However the allocation of the shift and date will be random.


JEE Main Mock Test 2019
NTA will open student registration for practice centre from September 1 onwards. This registration will help candidates appear in JEE Main 2019 mock test. Using the released mock test, the candidates will be able to prepare well for the upcoming examination. Since the mock test will have the same structure as the JEE Main 2019 examination, the candidates will be familiar with the pattern and analyze their preparation. Time management can also be practised using the mock test.

How to register for Practice Centre?

Candidates can follow the steps given below to register for JEE Main 2019 practice centre:

Step 1 - Personal Details: Since you are logging in from your Google or Facebook account, your name will visible on the screen, by default. Enter date of birth, age, Father's name and gender. Upload both passport size photo and a photo ID proof.

Step 2 - Contact Details: Provide the email address, mobile number, residential address, city and pin code. Select state and district from the dropdown list.

Step 3 - Academic Details: Here, enter the school or institute last attended or attending. Enter Enrollment Number too.

Step 4 - Exam Details: Select the exam interested in from the dropdown menu and mention the number of attempts taken for that particular exam. Click on submit button.
 

JEE Main Exam Centres 2019
The exam centres of JEE Main 2019 are the venues where the entrance examination is conducted by NTA.  Four exam centres of JEE Main 2019 have to be selected by the candidates while filling the online application form. All of the details regarding the exam centre will be available in the admit card. . a total of 364 centres in India and 9 abroad have announced in the JEE Main 2019 brochure/.

How to Prepare for JEE Main 2019?
JEE Main 2019 is a national level engineering entrance examination which has a high difficulty level. To prepare well, the candidates should be aware about the exam pattern, syllabus and more of the examination.


JEE Main 2019 Syllabus
The syllabus of JEE Main 2019 will be the same as in the previous year. Candidates will be able to know which chapter and topics have to be studied for the examination through the prescribed syllabus. Topics from Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry of class 11 & 12 will be present in the syllabus for JEE Main 2019 Paper I. For Paper II, the syllabus will consist of Mathematics, aptitude test and drawing. Before preparation, the candidates are advised to check the detailed syllabus, since this will allow them to know which topics are likely to come and accordingly prepare their schedule.
  
JEE Main Admit Card 2019
Registered candidates will be able to access the admit card of JEE Main 2019 for the January exam from December 17, 2018. The admit card will consist of all the details regarding the examination venue, timings, roll number, personal details of the candidates and more. JEE Main 2019 admit card is an important document because the candidates will have to present it while reporting for examination at the allotted centre. Inability to produce the admit card may lead to disqualification of the candidate. Along with the admit card, the candidates will also have to take a photo id proof (College/ School ID Card, Driving License, Passport) to the exam centre.

The admit card for JEE Main 2019 April exam will be available for download from March 18. The process will be the same for both January and April exams as given below.

Steps to download JEE Main 2019 Admit Card
Candidates can follow the given steps to download the admit card of JEE Main 2019:
  • To check the admit card, the candidates will have to submit their JEE Main 2019 application number, password and security pin.
  • Click on “Submit”
  • When the admit card is displayed on the screen, the candidates will have to check for any discrepancies. In case of any error, the candidates will have to report immediately to the JEE Main Secretariat.
  • After downloading the admit card, the candidates will have to print it out.
What to carry along with the JEE Main 2019 Admit Card?
  • Print copy of JEE Maiin 2019 admit card 
  • One passport size photograph (same as uploaded on the JEE Main Online Application Form). Candidates have to paste this on the specific space in the attendance sheet at Centre during the exam.
  • Any one of the original, valid and non-expired authorized photo IDs – PAN card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/ Aadhaar Enrolment No/ Ration Card.
  • PWD certificate issued by the Competent Authority, only for PwD category candidates
JEE Main 2019 Answer Key
After the entrance examination concludes, NTA will be releasing the answer key of JEE Main 2019. The answer key will consist of all the correct answers to the questions asked in the examination. Using the JEE Main answer key 2019, the candidates will be able to know their probable scores before the results are announced. The released answer key will also be open for challenge and the candidates will have to submit proof and pay certain fee to do the same. Coaching institutes may also be releasing their own answer key after the conclusion of the examination.

How to access JEE Main 2019 Answer Key?
  • The link to the answer key will be made available.
  • JEE Main application number and password has to be submitted to access the answer key.
  • After submission of the required credentials, the answer key will be displayed on the screen, which the candidates will have to download and save.
  • Comparison between the candidates’ response and the correct answers has to be done to calculate the probable scores.
JEE Main Result 2019
The result of JEE Main 2019 January session will be declared in online mode on January 31. The scores secured in the examination by the candidates along with the rank will be present in the result.  The JEE Main 2019 result for the exam held in April will be announced on April 30.

The following steps can be followed by the candidates to check their result:
  • The candidates will have to submit their JEE Main 2019 roll number and date of birth.
  • Click on “Submit”
  • The result will be displayed on the screen.
  • After checking the result, the candidates will have to download the score-card.

JEE Main 2019 Rank List
NTA will be releasing the rank list of JEE Main 2019 in the first week of May. The scores obtained by the candidates will be evaluated and ranks allotted. The better of the two scores of candidates who have appeared for both the January and April exams will be considered for the purpose of allotting the rank. Information regarding the candidates’ All India and Category Ranks will be present in the rank list. During allotment, the position of the candidate in the rank list will be taken into consideration.

JEE Main Cutoff 2019
The cutoff of JEE Main 2019 acts as a screening process for admissions. The minimum marks required to be qualified for JEE Advanced will be available in JEE Main 2019 cutoff. The cutoff will be different according to the category of the candidates.

JEE Main 2019 Counselling
Joint Seat Allocation Authority is responsible for the counselling of JEE Main 2019. Candidates who qualify JEE Main examination will have to apply for counselling through JoSAA which is a centralized process for allotment into NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. The registrations for JoSAA 2019 will commence tentatively in the second week of June. Candidates will be allotted seats according to their eligibility, merit, preferences selected and availability of seats.

JEE Main Participating Institutes 2019
Candidates will be able to apply for NITs, IIITs and CFTIs through JEE Main 2019. Allotment of seats is done in these institutes on the basis of JEE Main score. Excluding these premium institutes, many state colleges and private institutes also provide admissions based on JEE Main scores. States like Haryana, Nagaland, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha accept admissions according to the candidates’ scores in JEE Main.
